"Let me start by saying that when things go haywire, and they probably will at some point in time through escrow, you want someone like Joe and Phillip to be on your side. I shopped around for lenders with the major banks and web-based companies like Zillow.com. I almost got lured by some far away web-based lenders with promises of low interest rates due to low overhead- but boy, was I glad to have retained Joe Tishkoff as my lender of choice. If I could summarize my experience with Joe in a few words, these would include: attentive, caring, an expert in his field, and responsible. As a practicing US Federal attorney, I consider myself a very demanding and inquisitive person. Throughout the loan process, I must of have called Joe dozens of times and each and every time he took my calls and/or got back to me every time. Joe always had an expert answer for me which made the entire process easier to track. There is no way I would have gotten this attention from a major bank or from a far away web-based company.
I always felt Joe had my best interested in mind. For example, Joe explained the underwriting and escrow process clearly to me. I felt I could trust him. He never came across as trying to “sell” me additional options which were not to my best interest. I felt Joe “watched my back” all the way through right until the close of escrow. When I got stressed, Joe took the personal steps of contacting the necessary parties to push the process along which proved essential to close on time, get funded, and receive the keys to our new home.

We needed the final deed of trust to show Sandstone Villas so we can get a remote to the parking lot and keys for the laundry room and workout room. Now we can apply for those items.
Efren and I have been painting for the last two weekends. Living room and hall are finished with two coats, and the dining room and kitchen have one coat, so far. This weekend we will finish those two rooms.
It is always a pleasure to work with people as pleasant and friendly as you two. I am so glad that we got to know you better. I like doing business that way, rather than with someone on the other end of a telephone or email. You were patient with me, as I was always sort of nervous because of the Freddy Mac situation. I realize it is difficult to get all things together when the selling bank is in New York, the realtor is in Studio City, the Escrow is in Victorville, and the lender is in Encino. But you guys got it all together and pulled it through for us.
This is not good-bye, but just so long for now. I will let you know when we have it presentable for guests to visit us.
